To build this site, I sketched out the general layout, then translated that to an HTML page. I built the style sheet to create the columns on the page. I then broke the page apart to convert it to PHP with include statements that pull in the header, footer, and left navigation.
Once the page layout was decided, I added color and design to the pages. The paisley images were designed in Photoshop, and dictated the site colors. The style sheets were then updated to reflect those designs and carry the color theme throughout the site.
The "Database Example" functions as both an example of my work with databases as well as being functional. With multiple movie formats (DVD, Blu-Ray, digital) and gaming systems (Xbox, Xbox 360), I have a tough time remembering what media I own, let alone what I can play it on. I built this database to be able to search for specific shows or movies or filter the data, such as to view those in digital format or get a list of kid-friendly titles. This section will have on-going updates as I add data and strive to improve the functionality.
